Moringa leaf powder is a shelf-stable dry product; fresh Apple Ber is perishable. Here is general guidance for both. Always follow the storage directions printed on the pack or agreed for your consignment.
Moringa leaf powder
- Keep it dry. Moisture is the main enemy of dry powders. Store in a cool, dry place away from the stove and sink.
- Keep it out of light. Direct sunlight can fade the colour, so a cupboard is better than an open shelf.
- Reseal after use. Close the pack tightly or transfer the powder to a clean, dry, airtight container.
- Use a dry spoon. A wet spoon introduces moisture that can cause clumping.
- Check the label. Note the batch number and best-before date, and use the powder within that period.
For shops and business buyers
- Store sealed packs off the floor, away from walls, heat and strong-smelling goods.
- Rotate stock so older batches are sold first.
- Keep a record of batch numbers received, so any query can be traced quickly.
Fresh Apple Ber
- Keep it cool and shaded. Store fruit in a cool, well-ventilated place away from direct sun.
- Handle gently. Avoid stacking heavy loads on top of fruit, which can bruise it.
- Sort promptly. Remove damaged or over-ripe fruit so it does not affect the rest.
- Refrigerate at home if you will not eat the fruit within a short time.
