Whether you are buying a single pack for your kitchen or sourcing moringa leaf powder for a store, the label is the first place to look. A clear label tells you who made the product, what is inside it and how it should be stored.
The essentials to check
- Product name and ingredient list. The pack should state what the product contains. If anything other than moringa leaf is included, it should be declared.
- Net quantity. The weight of the contents, for example 100 g or 250 g.
- Batch or lot number. This lets the producer trace a pack back to a specific production run if there is ever a question.
- Date of manufacture or packing, and a best-before or use-by date.
- Name and address of the manufacturer, packer or marketer.
- Food licence details. Packaged food sold in India is expected to carry the applicable FSSAI licence or registration number. If you are unsure, ask the seller.
- Storage directions. Dry powders generally keep best in a cool, dry place, sealed after opening.
Questions to ask a bulk supplier
If you are buying for resale or for use in your own products, ask for:
- A product specification sheet.
- Any laboratory test reports available for the batch you are buying, and the date of testing.
- Pack formats, minimum order quantities and lead times.
- How the supplier handles complaints, replacements or batch queries.
A reliable supplier should be comfortable sharing what they have and clear about what they do not have yet.
Be cautious with bold claims
Moringa is a widely used plant ingredient, but food products should not be sold as a treatment or cure for any condition. Treat strong health promises on packaging or advertising with caution, and speak to a qualified professional about any dietary or medical questions.
At HM Agrione we publish product documents on our Quality page only once they are verified. If you need a document that is not listed, ask us.
